Valentine’s Dance
The Lost Colony  hosts a romantic  evening of dinner, dancing, and fun with elegant catering, live dance music and a silent auction at 108 Budleigh from 7-11 pm in Manteo. Tickets are $48 per person. Land of Beginnings Festival— Experience a nine-day festival that promotes the uniqueness of the Outer Banks with exciting cultural, educational and entertainment events for residents and visitors. Various entertaining activities throughout the festival celebrate the history, culture, and people of the Outer Banks.  Events include Living Legend Community Luncheon, Children’s Fun Faire, Story Telling, Black & White Ball and more. Children’s Fun Faire— This FREE event promises a full day of interactive fun! Designed especially for kids, this Fun Faire offers a wide variety of entertaining, hands-on, and exciting educational activities at Wright Brothers National Memorial Pavilion in Kill Devil Hills from 10 am -2 pm. All day-care groups, parents & children are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Black & White Ball: A Global AffairExperience a party on a grand scale like none other at the Wright Brothers Memorial Pavilion in Kill Devil Hills. Backstage Tours an exclusive behind the scenes look at how theatrical magic is created at Waterside Theatre. During this 45-minute walking tour you'll see how The Lost Colony’s stage is transformed into several scenes right before your eyes and learn other "tricks of the trade" while visiting the theatre, costume shop, and props areas. June 17-Aug. 12

Waterside Art Wednesdays—For the budding young artist! Create your own watercolor drawings like John White made of Roanoke Island in 1585. Activities include a brief video presentation, instruction, and time to paint.  Supplies and snack included.  Event held on Wednesdays, June 17-Aug 12 from 2-3:30 pm backstage at Waterside Theatre inside the air-conditioned costume shop. The Lost Colony  presents Charlotte’s WebE.B. White’s treasured tale of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little grey spider named Charlotte comes to life in this Waterside Theatre production for children. Face painting, balloon sculpting, and games entertain the children 30 minutes prior to the performance. Performances are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM, June 18 to August 13 in Waterside Theatre. Jesus Christ Superstar! The Lost Colony presents the ground breaking theatrical masterpiece Jesus Christ Superstar by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber onstage at star-canopied Waterside Theatre. The Lost Colony’s Theatre Arts Camp, Session I— This day camp is designed to teach students voice, dance, and acting skills; give them performance experience; ignite their creative spirit; build a sense of accomplishment and community; and encourage them to have fun! All skill levels are welcome. Camp runs July 27-Aug. 1 from 9 am – 5 pm. On August 8, there will be a Theatre Arts Camp performance to showcase the young talents. Lunch and snacks are provided, cost is $150 per week, plus $10 registration fee (non refundable).  Balance due on the first day of camp.  The Arts Camp includes camp T-shirt; tickets to Charlotte’s Web; Waterside Art Wednesday, Tea with the Queen/Simon’s Pirate Adventure, and The Lost Colony.  Camp is for ages 6-15. Grease Grease is the word. Whether it’s your 1st or 100th time, this 1950’s rock and roll musical is surely the “One That You Want!” Norfolk’s celebrated Hurrah Players present this venerable musical classic at The Lost Colony’s Waterside Theatre in Manteo. Virginia Dare Baby Auditions—The Lost Colony auditions for Virginia Dare babies at 2:00 PM in The Lost Colony Building, Manteo.  Infant performers chosen at this audition will portray Virginia Dare at her special August 18th birthday performance on the occasion of  Dare’s 422nd birthday celebration. Virginia Dare Faire— Celebrate Virginia Dare’s 422nd birthday at Fort Raleigh National Historic Site on Roanoke Island.  Attend a full day of free activities for the family that include make and take crafts; games; entertainment; activities; free cake and ice cream.  Reserve your seats early for the evening performance of The Lost Colony that cameos infant actors as baby Virginia—ticket charges apply. Christmas Sights and Sounds—Enjoy holiday sights and sounds with The Lost Colony at Fort Raleigh. This seasonal celebration is complete with horse and carriage rides, Santa Clause, holiday music performances, hot chocolate, and other Christmas-tide events at Waterside Theatre from 5-8 pm.  Visit the upside down Christmas tree at the Lost Colony Office Building for hors d’oeuvres and more fun.
