Madeleine Hamer
Eleanor Dare

Madeleine is absolutely thrilled to be appearing in this, her first season at The Lost Colony here in gorgeous Manteo, North Carolina. A recent graduate of the Honors College at the University of South Carolina with a degree in theatre, Madeleine plans to leave North Carolina at the summer’s end to pursue further acting work. A lover of all things theatrical, her interests range from classical Shakespeare to cutting edge films by directors like David Fincher and Sam Mendes. She would like to thank her family and great friends for their endless support, as well as Robert and all the folks at The Lost Colony for giving her this glorious opportunity!


Zechariah Henry Pierce
John Borden

This is Zechariah's first appearance on The Lost Colony stage.  He is very excited to be spending his summer with such a creative and innovative troupe!  Zechariah graduated from Gainesville State College with an AA in theatre and is currently a senior at Brenau University with the Gainesville Theatre Alliance.  He plans to graduate next spring with a BA in theatre.  Theatre credits include two summers with Georgia Shakespeare in Atlanta where he appeared in A Servant of Two Masters, Pericles, Robin Hood, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, and Treasure Island. He would like to thank all his mentors at GTA, his parents for their constant support, and The Lost Colony for providing him with this exciting professional opportunity.


Brian Rooney
Old Tom

Returning for his second season as Old Tom, Brian is happy to be working on his fourth show with Robert Richmond including As You Like It, Oh What a Lovely War, and A Cabal of Hypocrites. Spending the last several years in school, Brian is very close to getting his MFA in Acting from University of South Carolina. He has played leading roles in The Pillowman, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Waiting for Godot, The Birthday Party, Honk!, Noises Off, and The Tempest (to name a few) during his time as a student. Professionally, Brian has been seen in Tony and Tina's Wedding (Portland, OR), Mommie Queerest (Portland, Seattle and Los Angeles), and Urinetown (Portland). He is also no stranger to the world of film and television having had roles in For the Boys and French Exit and appearing on General Hospital.


Nathan Bennett
Sir Walter Raleigh/ Historian

Nathan Bennett is a second year MFA student at University of South Carolina where he performed in A Cabal of Hypocrites, Noises Off, The Pillowman, On the Verge, Oh, What a Lovely War!, As You Like It, and The Tempest.  Last year, Bennett voiced the new children's book.Jack & Inar: Tales of the Brothers Grimble. In 2004, he co-founded Chicago’s Overshadowed Theatre, directed Our Town, starred in a three-person production of King Lear and premiered Profit. At Magnum Opus Shakespeare Company, he performed in The Merchant of Venice, The Two Noble Kinsmen, and Playboy of the Western World.  Other roles include a one-man show of The Elephant Man, Alvin in Funeral Wedding, Malcom in Macbeth, Hotspur in Henry IV , Pericles in Pericles the Prince, Ferdinand in Love’s Labor’s Lost, and Mr. Wickham in Pride and Prejudice. Additionally, Bennett directed Romeo and Juliet for ShowForth video and has a Masters in Interpretative Speech.   


Nikki Ferry
Queen Elizabeth I
Nikki is excited to return to The Lost Colony this summer playing Queen Elizabeth, having played Dame Coleman last season. Recently performed: Roxy Regional Theatre: A Doll's House (Nora), Grease (Rizzo), The Picture of Dorian Gray (Sibyl Vane.) Stage One: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Helena), Alice in Wonderland (Queen of Hearts). Past seasons were spent with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park: A Christmas Carol,  a tour of Twelfth Night (Olivia), Reviving Ophelia; St. Croix Festival Theatre: Private Lives (Amanda), Lucky Stiff (Dominique Du Monaco); and The Hilberry Theatre: Lovers and Executioners (Julie), The Cherry Orchard (Varya), King Lear (Regan). Nikki holds an MFA from the Hilberry Repertory Theatre of Wayne State University. She has also studied at the Moscow Art Theatre School.


Terry Edwards
Gov. John White

Thirty years ago, Terry Edwards made hi professional acting debut as the Historian in The Lost Colony.  Terry travels the country working as an actor.  Recently, he moved to the Outer Banks.  It is his privilege to return to the show and place he started his acting career.  For the third season in a row, Terry reprises his portrayal of Gov. White, the leader of the colony and the grandfather of the first English child born in North America.  He is appreciative to Joe Layton, Carl Curnutte, and his wife Jennifer for making his anniversary season possible.


Micah Lyons
Simon Fernando
Micah Lyons is a senior at Texas State University.  He is seeking a BFA acting degree.  His recent stage roles include Simon in The Caucasian Chalk Circle;  Danny in Danny and The Deep Blue Sea;  Ali in the world premier of Welcome to The Sandbox;  Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire;  Booker T. Washington in Ragtime.  Micah has also appeared in numerous film and commercial projects recently and is starring in an action/thriller movie that premiers fall 2008.  Micah would like to thank God for His many blessings, and his family for their unconditional love and support. And as always...Determination and Favor!
 


Pressly Coker
Ananias Dare

Pressly is in his first season with The Lost Colony, and is currently a senior at The University of South Carolina. Theatre South Carolina credits include The Country Wife, This Lime Tree Bower, Winners, Twelfth Night, This Is Our Youth, The Real Inspector Hound, Fuddy Meers, The Tempest, and the experiment of A Tale Told By An Idiot. Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey credits include recent productions of The Cherry Orchard and The Rivals, touring productions of Twelfth Night and Henry IV Part One, and The Winter's Tale. Other recent credits include Glengarry Glen Ross, and Dori and Duncan on the Peter Pan Express with 12 Miles West Theatre Company. Pressly has trained at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and in the Actor Training Method of Tadashi Suzuki.  


Margie Mills
Dame Coleman

Margie is thrilled to return to the colony for her second summer. She will graduate in '09 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in theatre performance. Previous roles include Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret, Reverend's Wife in Volume of Smoke, Patti in Smokey Joe's Cafe, Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Imogene in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and Grace in I Will Go, I Will Go. Previous Colony credits include the choir, Blossom DuBonnet in Cinderella, and the Lead Nurse in South Pacific.


Clay White
Manteo

White grew up in Philadelphia, PA where he vacillated between competitive sports and acting. His passion for movement led him to discover martial arts and dance. Over the last seven years, he has performed with modern dance troupes, cirque-style acrobats, and performance martial artists. White has also worked with film studios in Los Angeles, modeling for movement art in photography, animation, and motion capturing.  He spent summers on the Outer Banks and looks forward to re-visiting his roots and performing the role of Manteo.


Carl Conway Maguire
Father Martin

Carl Conway Maguire is happy to return for a third season with The Lost Colony.  He is from Alabama, with a BFA in Acting/Directing from the University of Montevallo.  At Waterside Theatre, Carl has appeared as Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and as Luther Billis in South Pacific.  Roles at UM include Harry in Company, Treplev in The Seagull, Pompey in Measure for Measure and Terry in Side Show.  Carl has directed several plays including Humpty Dumpty (Bogosian), Cowboy Mouth (Shepard) and an original musical he wrote called The Quixoticians.  Carl is especially grateful for his years at TLC as an Actor/Technician—without them he would never be where he is today.


Vivian Lamolli
Agona

Vivian Lamolli is currently a third year student at the University of Florida, and majoring in theatre performance.  Her most recent projects have been Twelfth Night, Godspell, and The Hairpiece from The Colored Museum.  She is absolutely delighted to be working with such a wonderful cast, staff, and crew at The Lost Colony and hopes she will experience many more future productions with them.  Vivian would also like to thank her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (through Him all things are possible!); Mommy, Daddy, Adriana, Matt, and Marisa for always supporting her on all of her endeavors—love you all!


Michael Charles Campion
Wanchese

Michael is thrilled to return to The Lost Colony this year as Wanchese!  Although he is a North Carolina native, born in Raleigh, he moved several times before his first birthday before residing in Indiana. For summer vacations, Michael returns to his NC roots to spend time with his Manteo family.  Michael takes classes in business and theater at Purdue University.  He recently performed with Project in Motion Dance Group as Phaeton in the cirque show Phaeton and the Sun.  Previous credits include Elsa in The Enigma and an actor/technician in The Lost Colony.


Jimmie Lee Brooks III
Uppowoc

This is Jimmie Lee Brooks’ eight season and sixth in the role of Uppowoc, the medicine man.  He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, majoring in dramatic arts.  While there, he appeared in A Chorus Line, Hamlet, and made his directing debut with The Wiz.  Brooks has worked in Richmond, VA, Washington D.C. and New York.  He recently returned from Brooklyn where he was a hip hop instructor in Prospect Park and appeared off-off Broadway in the one-act #, portraying the role of Black Man and Choreographer.  He would like to thank RIHA for the chance to return to The Lost Colony…but most of all he would like to thank John Walker, “my mentor and friend for life.”


Riaz Lane
Wano

Riaz Lane is nine years old and is homeschooled with his brother and best friend, eleven-year-old Razi (Colonist Child 2008). His parents are Rakhsheed and Alton Lane of Chowan County, NC. Riaz along with Razi have performed several educational skits and acted throughout the summer of 2007 with the Hampton Roads Shakespeare festival. The brothers are active in 4-H and participate in 5k races and chess tournaments. Riaz loves reading, writing, numismatics, baseball, and his pet hamster Dewey. Riaz is inspired by investor Warren Buffet and baseball legend Jim "Catfish" Hunter. He also enjoys studying successful people.
