Greg London
Historian
Managing Director, Professional Theatre Workshop
 
Mr. London has acted and directed nationally and abroad. His credits include: Acting: title roles in Richard III, Macbeth, John Barrymore in I Hate Hamlet, Brother Boy in Sordid Lives,
Czolgosz in Assasins, Richard III with Stacey Keach and Othello with Avery Brooks and Andre Braugher at the Shakespeare Theatre, Washington D.C.  He created the role of Peter in Los Alamos by Pulitzer Prize Winner Lanford Wilson; directed by Marshall W. Mason. Directing:  Assassins, Merry Wives of Windsor, Bent, Romeo and Juliet, Songs for a New World, Polaroid Stories, Bat Boy, Cabaret, Parade, and The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Television: In the Heat of the Night, Star Trek: Next Generation, Designing Women.   He attended the London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts, Arizona State University, and a professional internship at The Shakespeare Theatre, D.C.  Mr. London was the national winner of the 2006 Eugene O'Neill Award for dramatic criticism. He will serve as Artistic Director for this season’s Professional Theatre Workshop and will direct South Pacific.

Christian Hayman

Christian's parents are Todd and Mischelle Hayman of Kill Devil Hills; his grandparents are Linwood and Evelyn Bryant of Rich Square, NC and the late Mike and Rachel Hayman of Nags Head.  Born and raise here in Dare County, Christian caught the theater bug from his great aunt and her children who performed in The Lost Colony--she was a colonist for 22 years.  This is his second season performing as Wano.  He loves to perform at school functions as well at home, a talent he shares with his grandmother.  When not performing or singing, Christian loves to play with his older sister and his younger twin sisters.

Brian Rooney

Brian Rooney started his acting career at age twelve performing in Leonard Bernstein’s Mass! at U.C. Berkeley. Since then he has performed in over 100 shows in about seven areas including extended stays in Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, and Portland (Oregon). His greatest pride comes from the wide range of material he has tackled including lead roles in My Fair Lady, Waiting For Godot, Little Shop of Horrors, Taming of the Shrew, Urinetown, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Macbeth, Noises Off, Bye, Bye, Birdie and supporting roles in Tony and Tina’s Wedding, Jekyll and Hyde, Female Transport, and Ten Little Indians to name a few. Brian has even done a small bit of film and television acting with a small appearance in For The Boys, French Exit, and a recurring bit part on General Hospital. Through the years he has worked as Backstage Manager for Ringling Brother’s Circus, performed live as K.I.T.T. the car from Knight Rider at Universal Studios, taught acting to teens in Leysin American School of Switzerland, sang in Cabaret shows on Empress of the North cruise ship in Alaska, and even Art Directed a feature film called Gangster World. Currently Brian is an MFA Acting student at University of South Carolina in Columbia where he has (in his first year) appeared as Ariel in The Pillowman and Jacques in As You Like It. He is very happy to be debuting this season in The Lost Colony since it is such a big celebration for the company. He looks forward to the possibility of performing in future years here on the beach, under the stars.

Michael Kenin Miller
Wanchese
Michael is ecstatic to return to The Lost Colony for his second season in the role of Wanchese! He is a native of Washington Grove, MD and a rising senior at Elon University where he will receive his BFA in Music Theater.  This past fall Michael returned to The Waterside Theater where he took on the roles of Manteo and Assistant Fight Captain for ¨The National Conference on Outdoor Drama.¨ He has been in such student films as Kinds of People and The Kiss at both N.C. School of the Arts and Elon University.  Some of his favorite roles include Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Diesel in West Side Story, Hero in A Funny Thing..., and Adam in Grief. Much love and endless thanks to his family and friends for their incredible support.

Laura Jo Schuster
Eleanor Dare
Laura Jo Schuster was born and raised in Evansville, IN.  She recently graduated from the University of Evansville with a degree in Theatre Performance.  At the University of Evansville, Laura Jo has performed in productions of The Comedy of Errors (Adriana), Blue Window (Emily), and Landscape of the Body (Betty), as well as productions of Urinetown, Jane Eyre the Musical, and Cabaret.  She was also in an independent film, NOVEM.  Laura Jo would like to thank her family for their constant support, and is thrilled to be a part of The Lost Colony this summer.   

Robbie Gay
Sir Walter Raleigh 

Proudly hailing from Cullman, AL, Robbie could not be happier to be walking in the footsteps of Andy Griffith in portraying Sir Walter Ralegh. An accomplished actor and director Robbie has created theatre from coast to coast in America.  His latest credits include performing in thirteen shows and tours with the California Theatre Center in Sunnyvale, CA, including Most Valuable Player and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged).  Other favorite roles include Hal from Proof and Johnny from Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune.  Robbie is a Recognized Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from the University of Alabama. 

Samantha Elkins

Hailing from Barboursville, WV; Samantha Elkins is joining The Lost Colony for her first season. She attends Marshall University as an Acting/ Directing Major and a Dance Minor. Previous roles include Felicia Dantine in I Hate Hamlet, Calpurnia in Julius Caesar, and Aunt March in Little Women. Samantha was also the dance captain for Tom Foolery and dance captain/ tribe member in Hair. Samantha traveled with the Pickled Pepper Players Children’s Touring Theatre on their Gulf Coast Relief Tour to aid children affected by Hurricane Katrina in November of 2005. Samantha would like to thank everyone at The Lost Colony for providing her with such an excellent opportunity and her family and friends for their love and support.

Joe Coffey
Ananias Dare
 
Joe is thrilled to make his debut at the Waterside Theater with The Lost Colony playing Ananias Dare.  Entering his second year as an MFA student at the University of Florida in the fall, Joe originally hails from Boston.  He received his undergraduate training in the New England area at Stonehill College, the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center and the Williamstown Theatre Festival.  Some past roles include A Mouthful of Birds (Businessman) and A Gothic Tale (Morten) with Stonehill; I Will Go, I Will Go (H.F. Sullivan), The Blue Room (Politician), and On the Razzle (Scottish Man) with Williamstown; Buried Child (Vince) with Waltham Hovey Players and Anne of a Thousand Days (Lord Percy) with Needham Theatre in Boston.  Favorite musical roles include Pippin (King Charlemagne), Sunday in the Park with George (Louis) and Side Show (Strongest Man).  At UF this past fall Joe was seen in The Collection (Harry) and American Century (Man).  Joe’s other interests lie in stage combat and ice hockey, although he knows he won’t get a chance to play on the ice this summer.  

Jacob York

Jacob York is from Benton, Kentucky.  Recent acting credits include The Faustus Project #14 (John Faustus, Crooked Twilight Theatre), The Zoo Story (Peter/Jerry, Double JJ Theatre), The Glass Menagerie (Tom Wingfield, Playhouse in the Park), Much Ado About Nothing (Don Pedro, Playhouse in the Park), A Midsummer Nights' Dream (Nick Bottom, Playhouse in the Park) and I Hate Hamlet (John Barrymore, Murray State University Theatre).  He has also worked as an apprentice at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and is a member of the comedy group, Beards of a Feather.  His most recent film endeavor is the role of Donnie in Bookends (Directed by Matt Riddlehoover). This is his first season at The Lost Colony.

Michael Kenin Miller

Nikki Ferry

Hailing from the bluegrass state of Kentucky, Nikki recently performed with Stage One: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Helena), Alice in Wonderland (Queen of Hearts), Miss Nelson Has a Field Day. Past seasons were spent with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park: A Christmas Carol, Twelfth Night Tour (Olivia),Reviving Ophelia; St. Croix Festival Theatre: Private Lives (Amanda), Lucky Stiff (Dominique Du Monaco); and The Hilberry Theatre: Lovers and Executioners (Julie), The Cherry Orchard (Varya), King Lear (Regan.) Nikki holds an MFA from the Hilberry Repertory Theatre of Wayne State University where she received a 2004 Wilde Award for Best Actress in a comedy. She has also studied at The Moscow Art Theatre School.  

Steve Jones

A native of Detroit, MI, this is Steve’s first season with The Lost Colony. He is currently a senior pursuing a BFA in Performing Arts with a concentration in Dance at Western Kentucky University. Past credits include Dick McGann in Street Scene, and performing in the Dance Company of Unto These Hills. Steve’s training in dance has taken him all over the world, including Civitavecchia, Italy where he performed in several concerts with Western Kentucky University’s Dance Company.
