Print Membership Brochure |
The Lost Colony is the story of the pioneering spirit that
makes America unique. In a feat almost as bold as the
enterprise of the 117 English men, women and children who
first settled on Roanoke Island, local Dare County residents
launched a movement over 70 years ago to perpetuate the
memory of the original settlers. Springing from a series of
local pageants and fueled by a powerful grassroots movement,
Paul Green's The Lost Colony premiered in 1937.
Despite the Great Depression, two World Wars, hurricanes,
fires, and financial challenges, the Roanoke Island
Historical Association, producer of The Lost Colony, has
proudly continued the tradition of keeping the dream alive.
Now we invite you to become a member of one of the most
prestigious performing arts organizations in the country.
Your membership in the Roanoke Island Historical Association
provides operating support, ensures artistic quality, and
supports our educational outreach programs, ensuring that
the legacy of the original colonists continues into the new
century. |
